Getting started
Converting to our trainers is easy, you can book in to get started with your hourbuilding online. We don’t need up front payments or complicated contracts to get you committed, we know our service levels will exceed your expectations and you’ll stay with us for all your hourbuilding journey.
21st Century Aircraft
If you’ve been flying at other schools you’ll be impressed with our modern, 21st century aircraft. We only choose the best platforms for hourbuilding to ensure less downtime, and with on site engineering you’ll not have the regular grounding of other schools.
Mentoring
Most schools will have you flying hourbuilding without any oversight, allowing you to potentially build bad habits that will be expensive for you to fix at CPL level. With our mentoring services our experienced instructors will fly with you and help guide your progress to a fully competent pilot, ready for the high expectations of airmanship at CPL level.
Structure
Whether you are hourbuilding part or full-time you’ll have the benefit of online booking throughout, full-time students can benefit from our scheduling service, allowing a higher rate of progress. Our modern, high availability aircraft are available 7 days a week without the restrictions placed on hourbuilders at other training centres
Pay as you go
Most other schools ask for large deposits and up front payments to allow them to invest in other parts of their business. Our aircraft tracking and booking system allows you to pay as you go, and only for the time you use, no rounding up
Sustainable aviation
We have the only unleaded fleet in the UK, reducing pollution significantly, and our aircraft produce under half the carbon as other schools aircraft.
Sustainability in finances is important for everyone, that’s why we don’t ask for up front payments on hourbuilding courses. Our pricing is fair, no large discounts for putting lots of cash in our bank and no sky high rates for paying by the hour, a fair hourly rate paid as you fly.

Hourbuilding costs
Hourbuilding is £213 an hour for our modern 2 seat trainer. Checkrides will be at the PPL training rate
Mentoring is available from £50 per flying hour.
Bookings and all other overheads included.
As a club member you’ll get free landing fees, available at £15 per month
Flight Qualification Requirements
You’ll need a current UK CAA Private Pilot Licence and Single Engine Piston Rating. You’ll also need to be checked out on the aircraft you will be using for hourbuilding.
Depending on the quality of your previous instruction you may need remedial training before being able to fly our aircraft solo. This will be paid at the Private Pilot Licence rates.
Medical requirements
You’ll need a UK CAA Class 2 medical. Our on site aeromedical examiner is available for new issues and renewals
